Tagaytay Escapade: Cool Breeze Hotel

Image
Cool Breeze Hotel Together with our friends, we attended a mid-afternoon garden wedding at Tagaytay. Our friend booked a budget friendly hotel for us to stay for the night. Relaxing at the hotel lobby The hotel is comfortable enough to leave our things and sleep overnight after a fun-filled day of celebrating the special moment of  Hennie and Hayner. Our hotel room is homey and very simple. I wish our little bedroom back home is as clean and orderly as this. Art of Towel Folding  We liked this towel arrangement. Check out the toilet .... It has toiletries and a heater to combat the really cool breeze of Tagaytay. Breakfast is also included in the room rates. For heavy breakfast eaters, the hotel's continental breakfast maybe relatively light. Since we wanted to have bulalo for lunch at the Mahogany market, we didn't mind a very light breakfast. Take a look at the price list: Hotel Room Rates Villa Rates The kitchen is not open 2

Wonderful Wedding Anniversary at Triboa Bay Country Club

Image
With our very tight budget, we searched for a private place inside Subic Bay Freeport Zone to hold an intimate renewal of vows ceremonies for our wedding anniversary. Good thing we stumbled upon Triboa Bay Country Club! Triboa Bay Country Club  is one of the many places the APEC leaders set foot during the 1996 APEC Summit. Pictures of the 1996 APEC Summit are displayed on the walls.  We requested a mix of Filipino breakfast to be served at the poolside instead of the indoor restaurant and hall. The staff prepared a  simple table set-up.  Additional fee was charged for the sound system and the use of the swimming pool. Triboa Bay Country Club Swimming Pool Triboa Bay Country Club Restaurant Public transportation to Triboa Bay Country Club is limited to taxi in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. If you are coming from Manila, we suggest that you take  SCTEX, then exit Subic Tipo Expressway entrance. Inside SBMA, you can just follow

Just a thought: Celebrate Your Milestones

Image
No matter how big or small, milestones are worth celebrating. It makes you remember a part of your life that made a difference in you. For married couples, people might raise their eyebrows if they celebrate their anniversary as girlfriend-boyfriend. Since there is no law preventing married couples to celebrate that occasion, they can, by all means, rejoice, reminisce and remember the 'girlfriend-boyfriend' anniversary thing. And yes, we are still guilty of celebrating our 'gr-bf' anniversary. It does not need a grand celebration. A simple mass then dinner at home will do the trick. Nothing fancy. It is just a simple reminder that you have come this far with so many blessings to thank for.  So, go ahead...celebrate that moment! P.S. Here are some pics of the anniversaries we celebrated. See some details on our next blog post! Reminiscing 'I Do' at Triboa Bay Country Club, Subic Enjoying sweet memories at  Restaurant 5 Discovery Suites, Or

Lesson for 1st quarter of 2012: In sickness and in health

Husbands and wives share so many aspects of their life together. Sickness is one of them.  I recently had a swollen jaw accompanied with a fever. The fever and swollen jaw did not last for more than three days and the doctor said it was nothing serious. Well, nothing serious happened to me. But a few days after, my husband got a really high fever. It was only after three days that we got to consult a doctor and I had to take care of  my dear husband for more than three days. It was a severe case of tonsillitis. He quickly recovered after taking medicine and a long rest.     After a month, I remembered my husband while he was taking anti-biotics, he looked at the receipt for his anti-biotics and asked me, "1,000 pesos for few tablets of anti-biotics? How will Filipinos afford to buy medicine?" Oh well, it was a good question but I still don't have the answer. For now, I know that we both have common colds.  God is good! Looking forward for the 2nd quarte

Tips in Planning Family Events while Keeping your Sanity

We are not professional planners but we usually end up planning family celebrations and milestones. From wedding anniversary to family reunions, all are equally special and undeniably tiring. But at the end of the day, these events make us happier. Here are the secrets in planning these wonderful occasions: 1. Know what you want. Ask yourself, your spouse or any member of the family involved in planning the event on the size, type and theme or even motif. Be definite. Do you want an intimate and small affair with the closest family members attending? How small is 'small'? For Filipino weddings, small maybe around 75 to 100 persons. Do you have the same definition of 'small'? Does a simple family reunion mean doing your own grilling at your own backyard or having a catering service at a secluded beach? 2. Set your budget. Be realistic. Research and ask for possible suppliers for a more accurate estimate. Add at least 10% of the total budget for contingency.  Create a

For years, hubby and I don't date on 14 February. We hate traffic and the long queue at the restaurant. But hey! It's a leap year....so I guess that's a good excuse. At least two days before Feb 14, we found ourselves calling the Spices Restaurant at Manila Peninsula  reserving seats for two. Hubby loves dishes from neighboring countries. Good thing Spices Resto specializes in Asian Cuisine!
