Olongapo City: Aotriz Apartments

Last January, we were looking for a place to stay at Subic. A budget-friendly place, good for a family of 6, where we can cook and just stay overnight. We wanted to go around Subic without travelling early.


We found one at aotriz apartments. At Aotriz, you can check-in anytime and stay for 24 hours. Located in a residential area outside Subic, it is accessible through jeepneys and very clean. Here are the rental rates (all in Php):

A unit has one bedroom (good for 2), a kitchen complete with kitchen/cooking utensils and living room with sofa. We took 2 units and asked for a stove and gallons of potable bottled water. They will provide a stove for daily rentals only upon request. We paid a reasonable fee for the stove and gallons of potable bottled water (forgot the exact amount but it won't be more than Php 500).


We enjoyed staying at aotriz. The place is homey and the owners very accomodating. It is a good starting point for our Ocean Adventure visit!

Marinduque, Philippines (Part 2): Glimpse of Boac, Marinduque

" If you want a vibrant night life, don't go to Boac or any place in Marinduque for that matter. Chances are you would get bored and head to Manila the morning after. If you want a peaceful night and experience the countryside but still have little semblance of sub-urban living, the Town Proper of Boac is the place for you."  -  yanx and vanz Marinduque is sometimes referred to as the Heart of the Philippines due partly to it's shape and geographical location. Boac is the provincial capital of Marinduque. Since we are still mourning, we decided to take a closer look at Boac and skip other beautiful destinations of the province for the meantime. Grid pattern, anyone? Like any town proper in rural Philippines, the town proper of Boac seem to impose an automatic curfew on itself. Stores and restaurants are closed by 6PM save for a few establishments like Mercury Drug and some sari-sari stores. Streets are very peaceful except for some night owls

Relaxing Date @ Subic (Day 2): San Roque Chapel and Xtremely Xpresso

Attending Sunday mass was our first itinerary for our weekend date. We arrived too early for mass at San Roque Chapel. This chapel is located along Dewey Road and is relatively smaller compared to the usual church we are used to hearing mass. But this chapel has air condition and is definitely fit for intimate weddings! Well, we were able to hear mass at San Roque chapel. But we made sure to take a picture of the mass schedule and get hold of their contact number. The chapel has an office located at the side. Contact Numbers: (047) 292-4539, 09089878678 Office hours: Tuesday  - Sunday (8AM - 5PM) In front of the chapel is a park, we just thought of taking some pictures of the park while walking and thinking our next move. The fun part was eating breakfast at xtremely xpresso while waiting for the mass. Xtremely Xpresso is just a few steps away from the chapel! We just love eating breakfast at this restaurant.
