Wonderful Wedding Anniversary at Triboa Bay Country Club

With our very tight budget, we searched for a private place inside Subic Bay Freeport Zone to hold an intimate renewal of vows ceremonies for our wedding anniversary. Good thing we stumbled upon Triboa Bay Country Club!


Triboa Bay Country Club  is one of the many places the APEC leaders set foot during the 1996 APEC Summit. Pictures of the 1996 APEC Summit are displayed on the walls. 




We requested a mix of Filipino breakfast to be served at the poolside instead of the indoor restaurant and hall. The staff prepared a  simple table set-up. Additional fee was charged for the sound system and the use of the swimming pool.

Public transportation to Triboa Bay Country Club is limited to taxi in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. If you are coming from Manila, we suggest that you take  SCTEX, then exit Subic Tipo Expressway entrance. Inside SBMA, you can just follow the highway running parallel Subic Bay at your right. A little past the end of the former Subic International Airport compound, follow the left curve and Triboa Bay Country Club is just a few meters ahead (Reminder: Don't forget to stop at the STOP sign!)

Marinduque, Philippines (Part 2): Glimpse of Boac, Marinduque

" If you want a vibrant night life, don't go to Boac or any place in Marinduque for that matter. Chances are you would get bored and head to Manila the morning after. If you want a peaceful night and experience the countryside but still have little semblance of sub-urban living, the Town Proper of Boac is the place for you."  -  yanx and vanz Marinduque is sometimes referred to as the Heart of the Philippines due partly to it's shape and geographical location. Boac is the provincial capital of Marinduque. Since we are still mourning, we decided to take a closer look at Boac and skip other beautiful destinations of the province for the meantime. Grid pattern, anyone? Like any town proper in rural Philippines, the town proper of Boac seem to impose an automatic curfew on itself. Afternoon Tea Buffet Table We wanted to escape the summer heat without going to the malls or heading to the beach and breaking our wallets. We immediately called the Peninsula Manila Lobby for reservations after remembering that the renewal member's benefit of Peninsula Manila Card includes a complimentary afternoon tea buffet for two at the Lobby of Peninsula Manila.
