Date Night and Day: Yakimix - Sushi.Smokeless Grill.Restaurant

Image
Here is our date night series and tips in creating your own date night together. To start, let us review Tip No. 1 then move to other useful tips. TIP No. 1: Your date night can be one of your many firsts!  Break the monotony of your life. Just try something new together. The keyword is 'new'. So on your next date, resist the urge of eating at the restaurant next door. TIP No. 2: Set a specific day every week as your date night.  This is a little hard for most couples and harder for those with children and are both working. At least, if couples have a specific day in a week for their 'bonding time', they can adjust their schedule and look for support (read: help in taking care of the kids, arrangement for baby sitters or nannies, exception to work overtime at the office!) in making every date night more feasible. TIP No. 3: Can't be there for your date night?  Make it day (and night). Compensate lost time together. Remember when you were still in the boyfriend

Tagaytay Escapade: Pink Sisters' Convent and Church

Image
Every time we visit relatives in Cavite, we are always aching to drop by and say our little prayers at the Pink Sisters. We got our wish! There are signs that recommend/ request silence. But the sign below says it all: We really want to attend mass here. This is the mass schedule on the website of the Sister-Servants of the Holy Spirit of the Perpetual Adoration under the liturgical services (http://pinksisterstagaytay.freehostia.com/services.html): Daily: Holy Mass - 6:30 a.m. Vespers/Benediction - 5:00 p.m.  Sunday: Holy Masses: 7:30 a.m.; 5:00 p.m. with Vespers  First Saturday: Holy Hour/Mass - 4:15 p.m. There are also Pink Sisters' Church in Davao City, Baguio City, Manila, Aklan and Cebu. Hopefully, we can visit the one at Aklan!

Tagaytay Escapade: Mahogany Market

Image
A visit at Tagaytay will not be complete without a trip to Mahogany market. It is a place where both  local and foreign tourist can enjoy the tasty 'bulalo at a low price and buy other inexpensive produce. Food stalls such as the one seen above are located right across the beef market section and serve a variety of Filipino dishes, to name a few: papaitan, caldereta, adobo, laing and pritong tilapia. The price of beef at Mahogany market is relatively cheaper compared in Metro Manila. A full meal good for 6 persons consisting of rice, extra rice, soda, 3 viands will only cost less than Php 1,000. Famous Mahogany Bulalo (beef and vegetables). Don't forget to try the bone marrow! Tip: If you want to buy fresh beef at Mahogany market, try asking the waiter/ waitresses (like the ones shown below) for discount with their 'suki'. Happy Eating!
