Spices Restaurant at The Peninsula Manila : Heart's Day Date

For years, hubby and I don't date on 14 February. We hate traffic and the long queue at the restaurant. But hey! It's a leap year....so I guess that's a good excuse.

At least two days before Feb 14, we found ourselves calling the Spices Restaurant at Manila Peninsula  reserving seats for two. Hubby loves dishes from neighboring countries. Good thing Spices Resto specializes in Asian Cuisine! For those interested, here is our choice of foodie:

Tom Yum Goong
Country of Origin: Thailand
Description: Spicy Prawn Soup. We requested for a very mild version. Servings can be good for two persons.
Cost: Php 460

Goi Cuon
Country of Origin: Vietnam
Description: Fresh Rice Paper Summer Rolls   with shrimps, pork and coriander
Cost: Php 390

Ahan Ta Lay Phad Nam Prik Phow
Country of Origin: Thailand
Description: Stir-fried seafood with chilli paste and oyster sauce and served with complimentary rice. (We ate more than half of it before I took this picture!)
Cost: Php 680

(Remember: Don't forget to add the 10% service charge + .80% Food tax + 12% VAT in computing the total bill.)

I was not able to avail of the 10% discount given to the Peninsula Card holder (yup, only 10% during special days like 'V' day). But with the smile on hubby's face (he loves the ambience!) and the complimentary rose and chocolate, I totally forgot about the discount.

Thanks Spices Restaurant for making our first Valentine's Day Date memorable!
