A Day in Tagaytay City: Brekkie Buffet at the Bag of Beans

Breakfast buffet for less than Php 500.
Tagaytay City is one of the nearest place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life. Due to its proximity to Manila, we like carrying out unplanned (and planned) trips in Tagaytay for a breathe of  fresh air.

Our future 'Mars' at the Bag of Beans entrance

Recently, we drop by Tagaytay for a 'Mars' mini-reunion. Dyan, our friend, prepared the itinerary for our day (thanks a lot D!). Our first stop, breakfast at the Bag of Beans Coffee Shop and Bakery located along the Aguinaldo Highway.

Main Buffet Table
For this trip, our food budget is around Php1K (good for two) for each meal. This breakfast buffet surely fits our budget! Home cooked meal is our description of the variety of food at the buffet table. For us, it is like Nanay Lolit's (our mother) Sunday breakfast at Laguna - festive Filipino family Sunday celebration.

The ambience of the buffet area made us feel like we were dining right at our family table. By the way, Bag of Beans is famous for the Alamid Coffee made from the 'poop' (oh yeah, it is poop!) of the Alamid Cat or Civet. We will try that next time and see if it really has that chocolatey aroma (every coffee lover who tried it describes it as such).

Inside the buffet area
Aside from the buffet area, Bag of Beans also has outside coffee area and other nooks.

In your next Tagaytay trip, you might want to include this cozy coffee shop and bakery.
