Off the Beaten Track Accomodation in Baguio City: Cinema Leonardo

For this year, our first travel with our friends lead us to the City of Pines. As usual, our dear Chap Bright did all the necessary arrangement (Sir thank you Sir!!!). It did save us a lot of trouble (and money) in arranging details of the out-of-town trip. Thank God for angels. Wink. Wink. Wink.

When it was announced that we will be staying at Cinema Leonardo, we wondered if we were staying in an old cinema. We searched  about it and found a few blog post about it. Looks good. We also checked Cinema Leonardo's fb account.  Hmmm... the place looks interesting.

At first, our group was a little confused at the exact location of Cinema Leonardo. But we eventually found it tuck away from the city. The place is relatively near Tam-awan Village. Our initial reaction: spacious. So many space. Inside the house, it can easily fit more or less 20 persons.

Cinema Leonardo has this rustic feel. It has a fireplace but we weren't able to try if it works. We did use the kitchen along with their utensils, cooking ware and gas stove. The owners allowed us to use their LPG, free of charge.

For us, Cinema Leonardo is excellent for big groups that want to stay away from the city and feel the cold and crisp air of Baguio City without spending too much on accommodation alone.

They have collection of old sitcoms and telenovelas. Perfect for a relaxing and reminiscing the old days. It offers the basic necessities for travelers and can accommodate big groups for a reasonable price.

If you want to book this place, you might want to read our tips:
  • Look for small signage/ directions for this place along the way
  • If you do not have your own vehicle, renting/ hiring a taxi or a van is your best bet. We notice that public transportation does not frequent this area.
  • Be prepared for a small portion of rough road. Hopefully, this will no longer be a problem in the future.
  • If you intend to cook your meals, buy your ingredients before you head here. The local market is definitely not walking distance.
  • If you are bringing your kids, be reminded that the place is big and there are lots of antique in the house. The house is old in itself but you will enjoy artistry and history.
  • If you are not used to the cold weather, bring  your own blankets (or even pillows). Chances are you would need a thicker blanket than the ones provided for you.
  • Cinema Leonardo is available on airbnb.
