The Peninsula Manila Experience: Splendid Retreat at the heart of Makati

EXTRAORDINARY OVERNIGHT STAY

We decided to avail of our Peninsula Card's 'complimentary overnight stay with breakfast for two' on a Black Saturday. For us, the Holy Week is the best time to be in Metro Manila instead of going to the province. Aside from the Manny Pacquaio's fights, the Holy Week is one of the very few moments we experienced no traffic at Metro Manila.
We love this bed!

Since we have been so tired for the past few weeks, we decided to stay at our room and do nothing but watch TV and sleep. Our room is very relaxing and we see no need to go outside our room. Though our room is equipped with fax machine, wireless internet access and telephone, we were not able to use those equipments since we are in vacation mode.

Relaxing means watching TV
Wish we have one like this at home!
This is the solution to our early morning problem....a separate toilet and shower room!

Well, we did go outside our room to dine at the Lobby. When we went back, we saw this chocolate bunny besides the television. Kids will surely scream with delight if they see this!

A visit from the Easter bunny!

DINING @ THE LOBBY

Are we inside a castle?

The lobby of the Peninsula Manila reminds us of European castles. Don't ask us why. We don't know the exact answer. Well, probably the grand staircase and the live music from the orchestra performing above added to this feel. But one thing is for sure, we enjoy eating at the Lobby.

Even the ceiling has a grand design!

More bread?

The bread was served while waiting for our food. We were enjoying the bread when we realized it was already our second serving and we have to save some space for our 3-course meal!

Yanx's Choice: Classic Greek Salad
Vanz' Choice: Soup of the Day

Vanz' Choice: Baked cannelloni

Yanx's Choice: Grouper Fish Fillet

Vanz' Choice: Lemon Meringue Pie

Yanx's Choice: Fresh Seasonal Fruit Plate
Generally, the price of the food in the Lobby ranges from 400+++ to 1,000+++. But if you are interested in 2-course or 3-course meal, just add service charge to the price in the pic below. For our 'guess-timate', you might need a budget of around Php1,000 for a 2-course meal without wine and Php1,250 for a 3-course meal without wine.

COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST @ ESCOLTA

We were used to having the breakfast buffet at the Lobby during our previous stay at Peninsula Manila. Due to the Easter Egg Hunt, the breakfast buffet venue was transferred to Escolta. Escolta is also a restaurant within the hotel. Aside from the usual breakfast buffet inclusions, breakfast at this restaurant also features other Asian cuisine as well as a wider variety of salad and dessert. We will post about our buffet experience at Escolta soon!

Have a nice summer!
