Loving Laguna: Pad Thai, Thai Cuisine

Image
Who would have thought that an authentic Thai kitchen is just around the corner of your village?   That is exactly what we discovered recently. This restaurant is so unassuming and is not even air conditioned. The kitchen is open and customers can even see how their food is prepared.  We were so surprised and excited to try the dishes.  We ordered our usual favorites in a Thai resto. Our verdict: two thumbs up!!! Super yummy! The servings are good for 2 and the price is quite reasonable. Coffee Jelly (Php 85) Pad Thai, the house specialty  Fresh spring roll (Php 50 per piece) For those interested, drop by the address below: PAD THAI. Thai Cuisine 83 Macaria Avenue corner P. Ocampo Pacita I (Near Evangelista and Family Care Hospital)

Loving Laguna: Tuding's Original Porkchop

Image
We are looking for a quick place to eat when we chanced upon Tuding's at Pacita Avenue. We heard good reviews about their pork chop. Honestly, we do not eat pork chop often except for few cases such as this. So, we ordered their 'silog' (sinangag and itlog) meals without hesitation.  Tocilog Famous Porksilog  (Hungry mom forgot about the photo shoot) Since we are not a big fan of pork chop, our expectation is based on the food bloggers' description of Tuding's pork chop. It is true that the pork was relatively thinly sliced compared to some we have seen and easy to cut and chew. The fried rice is not greasy like traditional 'sinangag' and the servings are relatively big for one person. The ambiance is definitely not like a fine dining restaurant. It is not air conditioned and those who want to eat have to 'pay as you order'.  The price of the 'silog' meal is relatively inexpensive.  A fair warning: do chec...

Shopping Center and the Famous Rodic's Diner

Image
For some reason, we both love dropping by the Shopping Center when we visit UP Diliman. If you are looking for low cost photocopy services and UP memorabilia, this is my best bet to find one. Most of the time, we drop by this simple diner. Any UP student studying in Diliman should at least try this diner once in their lifetime. Rodic's is a simple diner with that usual 'carinderia' feel. Aside from their famous tapsilog, it also offers other viand (around Php 85 plus) and rice (Php 15). A must try is their ever famous tapsilog! Yeah! That very finely shredded tapa and fried rice. Less 'litid' like some tapsilog.  It only cost Php 85. From time to time, they increase the price of their tapsilog and other viands but still the same quality through the years.   Rodic's has few branches other than Stall No. 9 at UP Shopping Center. You can also try their tapsilog at the following: Masaya St. corner Maginhawa St. at UP Village, Diliman,...
